MARY LOUISE SHODA, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. "She was a devoted and loving wife and mother." She attended Precious Blood Elementary and Central Catholic High School. She was an accomplished dancer, touring with the Fort Wayne Women's Club dance troupe. On June 14, 1941 she married Glendon L. Shoda at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. During World War II she worked at General Electric. For many years she was the secretary at Shoda Excavating & Grading. She enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, dogs, and going to the lake. She was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune and Dancing with the Stars. She is survived by her loving husband, Glendon; daughter, Deborah; son, Stephen (Pamela); and grandchildren, Stephanie and Gregory; nieces, Ann (Scott) Russ, Jayne (Sam) Connor; Judy (Ken) Buchan, Christine (Larry) Studebaker, Marsha Hoy; and nephews, Michael Goodwin, Jon (Lynda) Shoda, and Craig (Sue) Shoda and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Huntine; mother, Mildred Grace Huntine; brother, William T. Huntine; sisters, June Noll, and Carol (Paul) Goodwin; and brother-in-laws, William (Shirley) Shoda, and Jon (Zepherine) Shoda. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, corner of Trier and Reed Rd., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with a Vigil service at 8 p.m. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Anne Home Retirement Home or Masses.
