JERRY L. McDANIELS, 70, an 18 year resident of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, he served in the United States Army during Korea. He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 25 years of service and relocated to Las Vegas, where he continued to work for ETT Slots as a change attendant. He belonged to the Navy Club of the United States of American, Ship 245. He spent a lot of time with his grandson, Zack, enjoyed fishing when he could find the time, as well as, gambling. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean; son, Jerry (Connie) McDaniels Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lora (Tom) Hurley of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren, Zachary and Ashley Hurley; brothers, Ronald and Victor McDaniels and Danny Aker; sisters, Cinda Woods, Melody Konger and Sherry Van Osdale, all of the Fort Wayne area; and aunt, Phyllis Lesh of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Adriane McDaniels; mother, Elenora; stepfather, Melvin "Bud" Aker; and brother, Melvin Aker. Memorial service will be held at a later time and date, Fort Wayne
