ARTHUR G. HAMMOND, 93, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Ashton Creek Health & Rehab, Fort Wayne. Born in Newark, N.J., Arthur moved from Florida to Indiana in 2010. He worked as an executive agent in seven states with Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway for 40 years, retiring in 1985. A graduate of Golden Gate University, he went on to graduate school at American University in Washington, D.C. and the University of Maine. He was a member of North Lake Presbyterian Church, The Villages, Fla., the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, and American Legion, and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife, Anna Lucille Hammond of Fort Wayne; son, James (Jennifer) Hammond of New York; daughter, Jean (David) Parks of Connecticut; grandchildren, Bradford, Erica and Tyler; and stepson, Robert (Susan) Head of Fremont, Ind.
