CLETUS H. COOMER, 94, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Haviland, Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Sand Point Assisted Living, Titusville. Born Sept. 22, 1918, in Worst ville, Ohio, he was the son of George and Mary Nesbitt Coomer. He was one of 11 children, with one surviving brother, Darrel Coomer of Mendon, Mich.; and one sister, Betty Doctor of Fort Wayne. On Dec. 20, 1938, he married the love of his life, Alice Stoller; she preceded him in death in February of 1984. Cletus was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and after his return from service was employed by Dana Corporation, in Fort Wayne. Upon retirement in 1973, he moved to Titusville, Fla. During retirement, he and his wife, Alice, traveled extensively, touring all 50 states and many foreign countries. Also surviving are four sons, Jerry (Ardie) of Menomonie, Wis., Merrit (Dolly) and Phillip of Fort Wayne and Michael (Lois) of Fond du Lac, Wis.; four daughters, Marilyn (Henry) Bertot and Jan (Brent) Swanson, both of Titusville, Fla., Carolyn of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Alice (Ed) Wenninger of Haviland, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Glenna Coomer of Titusville, Fla.; 31 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was also preceded in death by his eldest son, Clarence; youngest son, Dean; granddaughter, Julie Coomer; and great-granddaughter, Grace Pennella. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville, Fla.
