DARRELL DENNIS LEPPER, 64, of East Leroy, Mich., died Friday morning, Jan. 18, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, after a courageous fight against cancer. Darrell, the son of Delmer Henry and Velma Lucille (Springer) Lepper, was born Nov. 17, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was raised in Fort Wayne, where he was a 1966 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and his Master's Degree in Business from Indiana University. Since 1992 he and his wife, Julie have organized and promoted Shipshewanna On The Road. He enjoyed tinkering and loved cruising Sonoma Lake on the pontoon boat with his family. He married the former Julie A. Walter on Oct. 17, 1981 in Battle Creek, Mich. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Julie; his stepson, Gregory G. (Eileen) Fountain of Battle Creek, Mich.; his granddaughter, Allyson Fountain; his brother, Lowell (Carol) Lepper of Fort Wayne; mother-in-law, Edythe Walter of Battle Creek; sister-in-law, Rebecca (Kenneth) Comport of Battle Creek and a niece, Wendi R. (fiancée - Mark Donahue) Reynolds of Hermitage, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service to celebrate Darrells' life is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek, Mich. Rev. Thomas E. Pumford of Pumford Ministries, Banister, Mich. officating. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to continue Darrell's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following the committal service at the family home.
