GENE H. HEWETT, 83, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at the Richard L. Roude-bush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, he worked as a Technical Engineer/ Production Manager with Mag-navox for 26 years, retiring in 1989. He loved reading, crossword puzzles, and tinkering. Surviving are his son, Steven Hewett; daughter, Jean Ann Hewett both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Alison Thornton of Sugar Land, Texas; son, John (Kathy) Hewett of Bloomington, Ind.; daughter, Rachel (Joseph) Hewett-Beah of Gallup, N.M.; daughter, Rebecca Hewett of Fort Wayne; son, David Hewett of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Matthew Hewett, Brittney Cervi, Samuel Thornton, and George Thornton; great-grandson, Dallas Brown; former wife, Annabelle Hewett; and brother, W. Glenn Hewett of Findlay, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabel Hewett; daughter, Mardel Hewett; son-in-law, Patrick Thornton; and five brothers.
