HARRY B. REED, 83, of Hicksville, Ohio, died on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at his home. Born Feb. 7, 1931, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Richard) Reed. He was a 1949 graduate of North Side High School. He attended college in Corning, New York. On Dec. 10, 1977, he was united in marriage to Kay Strahm; she survives. Harry served his in country in the U.S. Air Force. He owned Superior Cleaners in Hicksville for 15 years and retired from Commercial Intertech. Harry was a member of the Hicksville Eagles 2556, Antwerp V.F.W., and Farmer American Legion. His passions were hunting and fishing. Also surviving are daughters, Betsy (Wayne) Silverman of Chandler, Ariz., Sharon (Barry) Cox of Carmel, Ind. and Beth Ann (Kindinger) Blaising of New Haven, Ind.; sons, Rex Reed of Hicksville and Scott (Kelly) Mills of Indianapolis, Ind.; and eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Bopp. Memorial service is 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with visitation starting at 3 p.m., at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
