HELEN M. (DECK) POTTER, 92, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at The Oaks in Columbia City. Born on Nov. 21, 1920, in Fort Wayne, she was a Homemaker that loved caring for her family. She loved playing the piano and singing. She was a member of Salvation Army Church and a life member of the D.A.V. Women's Auxiliary. Surviving are her son, Donald L. (Cheryl) Potter of Columbia City; daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Hall of Clifton, Texas and Mary (Jim) Runyan of Albion, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth A. Cleveland of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raymond L. Potter; parents, Charles F. and Geraldine Pacel; son, Robert E. Potter; brothers, Delbert W. and Robert Deck,; and sister, Margaret Deck. Service is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
