HELLEN B. WIEBKE

HELLEN B. WIEBKE, 96, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born in Kokomo, Hellen was the owner of several diners and served as a food specialist with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at the church. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, traveling, spending time at the lake, but most of all being with her family. "She loved her family and cherished all her grandchildren." Surviving are her daughter, Judith (Richard) Krouse of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, April (Dr. Ron) Cohen, Emily (Byron) Peters, and Nora (Douglas) Schlaudroff; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Maxwell, Charles and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Effie Rice; husband, Wilmer "Bill" Wiebke; sister, Francis Conwell; two brothers; and her beloved dog, Maggie. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Ben Bruns officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the funeral home. Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church.
