JACQUELINE "JACKIE" SMITH, 85, of Decatur, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Wells County, she was a daughter of the late Wayne M. and Martha V. (Rowe) Huffman. On June 17, 1951, she married William A. "Bill" Smith. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Tri Kappa sorority and was an avid reader and traveler. She was a Home Economics teacher for East Allen County Schools. She is survived by her husband, Bill Smith of Decatur; son, Ben (Julie) Smith of Fort Wayne; daughter, Angie (Scott) Springer of New Haven; two brothers, Tom (Jo) Huffman of Fort Wayne and Tim (Shelley) Huffman of Liberty Center; and four grandchildren, Amy Guest, Hannah Springer, Johanna Smith, and Grant Smith. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Guest. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Heinbaugh officiating. Visitation is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Woodcrest Porter Auditorium and from 5 to 8 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.
