JAMES EARL ALDRIDGE, 71, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Eternal Father on Tuesday, May 22 2012, surrounded by his family and friends. Born June 23, 1940, in Bethlehem, Ind., he attended Bethlehem Schools. He served in the Air Force, flying into tornadoes and hurricanes to learn about velocity and other data. He went to work for Magnavox and traveled to many countries and was with a team using advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems to provide technical support for units of the first Calvary Division Artillery, so they could talk wirelessly from Kuwait to the U.S. "He loved his country and his job. He will be dearly loved for eternity from Connie and his family." Surviving are his companion, Connie Whitesell; sister, Neva Aldridge of Fort Wayne; brothers, George and Fallis Aldridge Jr., both of Fort Wayne; and son, James E. Aldridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, in 1997; and parents, Fallis and Elsie Aldridge. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling two hours prior.
