JAMES "JIM" HAWKINS, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 12, 2014 at I.U. Methodist Hospital. Born in Lafayette, Jim served in the Army Airborne during the Korean War. He retired from Inter-national Harvestor in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and past member of the Mizpah Shrine. He enjoyed fishing, racing, Indiana Basketball, spending time with his family and dog Miley. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Hawkins of Fort Wayne; children, Pamela (James) Mackay of Centerville, Mass., David Hawkins of Fort Wayne, Richard (Camri) Hawkins of New Haven; grandchildren, Ryan and Spenser Hawkins; and sister, Carolyn (Bill) Townsend of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bernice Hawkins. Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Kathleen Haller officiating.
