JAMES R. BARRAND, 70, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, he worked as a Pipe Fitter with Dana Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church a US Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 47. He enjoyed raising horses and watching current events on CNN and had competed in various Karate tournaments. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Dorothy R Barrand; mother, Rita M Barrand of Fort Wayne; daughters, Elizabeth and Kimberly Renee Barrand both of Fort Wayne and Renee Dorothea Barrand of Wolcottville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, J Michael Barrand of Bonney Lake, Wash.; and sisters, Judith A Coleman of Fort Wayne, Jane S (Dan) Heingartner of Wolcottville and JoAnn Sifleet of Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J Barrand. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior.
