JAY (JASON) G. GATES, 67, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Colver, Pa., he graduated from Duquesne University and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. Jay was the owner of Industrial Piping and Engineering and Graber and Assoc. commercial real estate sales, and worked years ago for Central Soya. He was a member of The Chapel and the Living Proof class at the church. Surviving are his wife, Carol Gates of Fort Wayne; son, John Gates of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Jessica (Chris) Rhodes of Indianapolis; brothers, William (Carol) Gates of Buffalo, N.Y., and David (Paulette) Gates of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters, Elva Schmidt of Marlton, N.J., and June (Fred) Tullos of Williamstown, N.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Awilda Gates. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road with calling one hour prior.
