JIMMIE D. SHELTON

JIMMIE D. SHELTON, 82, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 at his Kingston Residence in Fort Wayne. Born in Ripley, Miss., Jimmie was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He worked as a Customer Service Agent with Delta Airlines for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Zanesville United Methodist Church, and was a 25 year member of Zanesville Lions Club. He loved attending his children's and grandchildren's school activities. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed raising livestock, being involved in the 4-H, being a maple syrup hobbyist, being an airplane enthusiast, and traveling especially to Hawaii. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie Shelton of Fort Wayne; daughters, Mary Lou (Kent) Rethlake, and Lisa (Jeff) Malone, both of Fort Wayne; son, Jeff (Jill) Shelton of Markle; sister, Olgie Hammers of Billings, Mont.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dessie Shelton; and nine brothers and sisters. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Zanesville United Methodist Church, 11811 N. Wayne St., with calling one hour prior. Rev. Mike Murrell officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue. Burial in Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville, Ind.
