JOHN B. KALB

JOHN B. KALB, 77, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Plainview, Minn., he was a resident of Fort Wayne since 1949. He worked as a Sales Engineer with R.L. Guimont for 39 years, retiring in 2007. He was a very faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and choir, Purdue University Alumni class of 1961, GE Apprentice Alumni and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He enjoyed Republican politics and was a very involved and passionate Fort Wayne citizen. Surviving are his wife, Judith A. Kalb of Fort Wayne; son, Michael J. Kalb of Fishers, Ind.; daughters, Carrie M. (Jim) Boedeker of Fort Wayne, Mary B. (John) Koval of Ada, Mich. and Katrina A. Kalb of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; and sister, Marjorie (Jack) Moore of Boca Grande, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. and Thiel M. Kalb; brother, Ernie Kalb Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Kalb. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd. with calling one hour prior. Rev. Thomas Eggold officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road.
