KENT R. FREEBY, 55, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne followed a brief battle with cancer. Born Sept. 7, 1957, in Decatur, he was the son of Daniel R. Freeby (he died Dec. 23, 1992) and Eileen (Bieberich) Freeby. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He was employed by National Oil and Gas in Bluffton. He was a graduate of Bellmont High School, Decatur and of IPFW. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Teri Freeby of Fort Wayne; son, Adam Freeby and Ryan Freeby, both at home; mother, Eileen Freeby of Decatur; sister, Susan (Bruce) Bernhardt of Coatesville, Ind., Laurie (Joseph) Kunst of Willow Springs, Ill., Emily (Rick) Miller of Fort Wayne, Jennifer (Mark) Bradtmueller of New Haven; his best companion, Cody; mother-in-law, Ann Chin of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Tami Chin of South Bend, Ind.; father-in-law, Robert Christlieb of Fort Wayne; eight nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by father-in-law, Charlie Chin. Service is 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior.
