LAWRENCE J. MORAN, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Coving ton Manor Nursing Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., Larry graduated from Cathedral Boy's Academy and Purdue University's Engineering School. He served in the Navy during World War II was an Engineer with Magnavox for 22 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and ASME. He also was a past member of Fort Wayne Artist Guild. He had volunteered at St. Mary's Soup Kitchen and their Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. He was an avid golfer, painter, and hiker. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Margaret, especially to Ireland. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Kaiser of Fort Wayne; sons, Larry (Debra) and Kevin, both of Fort Wayne and Dennis (Pam) Moran of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Jennine (Nick) Vesper of Indianapolis; brother, John (Mary) Moran of Avon Lake, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Leona; wife, Margaret; sisters, Mary Ellen Colbert and Kathleen Vaughn; and brother, Michael. Private services were held. Arrangements with D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen and Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.
