LEWIS "LEW" G. BALTZELL, 85, of Anderson, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, Anderson. Born March 18, 1927, in Mendon, Ohio, he resided most of his life in Indianapolis. He graduated from Lincoln Chiropractic College in 1953 and was a well-loved chiropractor on the west side of Indianapolis for 40 years. Lew served his country in the U.S. Army in General Eisenhower's headquarters in Germany. He was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church in Indianapolis before moving to Anderson and joining the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis for many years. Lew is survived by son, Gary (Janet) Baltzell of Fort Wayne; daughter, Diana (Mark) Bennett of Markleville; grandchildren, Bryan (Stefanie) Baltzell of Denver, Colo., Cara (Brandon) Maroney of Fort Wayne, Katie Bennett of Pendleton, and Becky Bennett (fiance Jon Maiorana) of Macomb, Mich.; two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Heady) Baltzell; infant son, Steven Baltzell; parent, Kenneth and Kathryn (Miehls); and sister, Arlene Burden. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Home Instead Senior Care for their compassion and care during the past three years. Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Cable officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St., Anderson. Burial in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
