LINDA K. HIRSCHY-TYNER, 65, of Elwood, formerly of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, 12:35 p.m., at the home of her daughter. Born July 26, 1947, in Decatur, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Esther (Baumgartner) Hirschy. She married Burel Tyner on Nov. 25, 1992. She was the co-owner of Myers Dance Studio in Decatur. She was the first woman elected to the County Council of Adams County. She also was the former County Treasurer of Adams County. She worked as the District Manager for the BMV and Business Administrator for Miami Correctional Facility in Peru. She was a past member of the Tri-Kappa Sorority of Decatur and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elwood. Surviving are her husband, Burel Tyner of Elwood; twin daughters, Darlene (Roy) Zeitvogel of Decatur and Charlene Johnson of Fort Wayne; bonus children, Sam (Caterina) Tyner of Elwood, Brett (Jacquie) Tyner of Anderson and Christi Tyner of Elwood; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed (Kerry) Hirschy and Gil (Susan) Hirschy, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Dorence (Gary) Wilson of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; bonus child, Anna Tyner; and grandson, Shane Tyner. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elwood. Father Dan Duff officiating. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rosary at 4 p.m. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Elwood.
