LOIS A. HITZEMAN, 87, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center Hospice, Fort Wayne. Born June 4, 1925, in Harbor Beach, Mich., she was a daughter of Rev. Otto and Clara Kutschinski. Lois attended Concordia Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Central High School in 1942. She was employed by Lincoln Life during World War II. She married Richard C. Hitzeman on May 4, 1946. She was a homemaker and member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She is survived by sons, Thomas (Eileen) Hitzeman of Springfield, Ohio and Daniel (Roberta) Hitzeman, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Connie (Joseph) DiFilippo and Janet Hitzeman Lynch, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Victoria Sillivan of Danville, Calif; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. "So much of what is good and kind, so much of what we need, we find within the gentle hearts of loving mothers." Service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Pastors Michael Barnes and Heath Trampe officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at D.O.
