LORRAINE M. SMITH, 91, of Bluffton, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, 9:45 a.m., at Christian Care Retirement Community. Born Feb. 19, 1922, in Faribault, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Florina (Bouchard) Soucy. Lorraine married Max J. Smith on Dec. 30, 1945, in Culver City, Calif.; he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2009. Lorraine was a homemaker. She was also the owner / operator of Bluffton Gift & Office Supply Store for many years. In her later years, she assisted in the office at Dunwiddie Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning of Bluffton. She was a member of Tri Kappa and Eastern Star. She was an avid Bridge player. Survivors include a son, Ed "Poppy" (Cheryl) Smith of Syracuse, Ind; two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Clark and Amy A. (Doug) Dunwiddie, both of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Lisa Bowman of Fort Wayne, Kyle Clark of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lauren (Matt) Prible of Keystone, Ind.; three step-grandchildren including, Wendy (Joey) Hendricks of Bluffton; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five sisters. A service celebrating Lorraine's life is 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Thoma / Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Certified Life Celebrant Jeff Lemler officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in the Garden of Chimes at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
