MARY CATHERINE HAHN

MARY CATHERINE HAHN, 81, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. Mary Catherine was a graduate of C.C.H.S. and received her B.S. degree from the University of St. Francis, and earned an M.S. at Purdue University. She was a dedicated math teacher for 31 years at Monroeville H.S. and F.W.C.S. (Harrison Hill and Miami). She was a member of Catholic Women's Club, Allen County Historical Society, Barr Street Irregulars, Fort Wayne Retired Teachers Assoc., National and State Councils of Math Teachers, and Delta Kappa Gamma (past pres of Phi chapter). She was an avid reader and lover of math, history, and crossword puzzles. "For the past 30 years, she acted as the matriarch of the Hahn family and over the years, everyone has experienced her wisdom, wit, generosity and love. She will be sorely missed by all." She is survived by two sisters, Bertha (Francis) Brohman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Virginia Hahn of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Anthony (Kathleen) Hahn of Valparaiso, Ind., and Joseph (Jean) Hahn of Fort Wayne. She was the aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Catherine (Holly) Hahn; and a sister, Ann (Gerald) Mullins. A Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Mungovan & Sons Funeral Home, 2114 S. Calhoun St. Interment will follow immediately at Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave. Mary Catherine wishes no flowers!
