NED S. BYALL, 84, of Columbia City, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. Born in Whitley County, Ned graduated from Jefferson Center School. He served in the Army and went to Radio School in Fort Benning, Ga. He was with the 1st Cavalry Ski Patrol during the Korean War and was stationed in Hokkaido, Japan. Ned, along with his wife, Delores, operated the family farm with the help of their son, Brent. He was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores (Adams); children, Maurie (Rosi) Byall, Marsha (Wayne) Bunker and Tammy (Ken) Sipe, all of Fort Wayne, Dave (Jenn) Byall of Warsaw, Brent (Dawn) Byall of Columbia City, Les (April) Byall of Wichita, Kan., and Angie (Brad) Prieditis of Holland, Mich.; sisters, Helen (Bob) Taylor and Patricia (John) Alexander, both of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ruth; and brothers, Harry and Maurice. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Calling also from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at D.O.
