PATRICIA ANN (DUKE) TROYER, 77, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at North Ridge Village Nursing Home, Albion. She was a public school teacher in Albion for 35 years including Wawaka and Kendallville High Schools. Most of her career was spent at Central Noble Middle School and High School. She was a member of Albion Wesleyan Church, was a lover of gospel quartet music, and was and Indianapolis Colts and Pacers fan. She treated her family as friends and her friends as family, and enjoyed creating needlework gifts for them. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Everett; daughters, Pam (Larry) Ellet of Howe and Sonya (Gregory) Ward of Evans, Ga.; brothers, Perry Duke of Anderson, S.C. and James (Aiko) Duke of Camak, Ga.; sister, Sue (Rev. Dr. Ray) Barnwell of West Union, S.C.; grandchildren, Ross (Sara) Ellet, Jordan (Roxanne) Ellet, Justine (J.) Wise, Declan Ward, and Lucy Ward; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J. C. and Alma Frances (Morgan) Duke; brother, Paul Duke; and granddaughter, Lindsay Ellet. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at Albion Wesleyan Church, with calling one hour prior. Pastor David Sheffield and the Rev. Dr. Ray Barnwell officiating.
