PATRICIA L. "PAT" GUMBERT, 81 of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday at home. She was a homemaker and a life member of North Webster American Legion Post 253. She was married to her husband, Bob, and together they built their home at Knapp Lake and shared 60 years of marriage. She especially loved creating craft projects and was especially talented in crocheting, knitting and plastic canvas. The love of her life, Bob, preceded her in death on May 3, 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Gertrude "Trudi" McGinnis of Fort Wayne and Myra (Jim) Christner of Syracuse; grandchildren, Valerie (Kelly) Anglemyer and their son, Aspen of Goshen, and Ryan (Sara) Christner of Syracuse; two brothers, John (Carol) Thurber of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Dan (Carol) Thurber of Fort Wayne; and one sister, Conny (Tom) Loftus of Reno, Nev. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Russell L. and Gertrude M. (Drewery) Thurber. Service is 2 p.m. today at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service, 2403 E. Wallen Road. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Parkview Hospice or to the donor's choice.
