PAUL D. SWITZER, 87, of Van Wert, Ohio, died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, 3:10 p.m., at Hearth & Home Assisted Living, Van Wert, Ohio. Born May 28, 1925, in Ohio City, Ohio, he was a son of the late Dean Switzer and Esther (Putman) Switzer. He married Ella Franz on July 31, 1953, in St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling; she survives of Van Wert, Ohio. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling in rural Decatur. He was also a member of the AMVETS and the Southwest Conservation Club, both in Fort Wayne. He served his country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1949. He was a plumbing purchasing agent for Central Supply, Fort Wayne for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to working at Central Supply, he ran a fuel route in Van Wert County, Ohio for Farm Bureau. Also surviving are his nephew Ron (Carla) Young of Van Wert, Ohio; niece, Susan (John) Gnagy of North Manchester; and nephew, Kenneth (Marie) Haines of Dallas, Texas. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Ann Young and Marilyn Maxine Haines. Services is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Martin Moehring officiating.
