PAUL W. ARCHER, 86, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and worked as a shipping clerk with Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of American Legion Post 296. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, feeding the birds and watching. Surviving are his son, Bill (Debi) Archer of Fort Wayne; daughters, Sandy (Gerald) Roby of Fort Wayne, Cindy (Jeff) Clark of Seminole, Fla., Karen (Joe) Archer-Sorg of Markle, Ind., and Melodie (Tim) Troxell of Montgomery, Mich.; grandchildren, Scott, Melissa, Brian, Megan, Gretchen, Adam, Casey, Jeff, Jenny, Joe, Levi, Sampson, and Delilah; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Archer. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Debra Meuter officiating.
