ROBERT ALFRED BROWN, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at home. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on May 26, 1917 the son of the late Alfred "A.C." and Minnie W. (Rippe) Brown. He served from 1942 to 1945 in the Army during World War II. He started his career in car sales with Nash Ramblers and went on to work for DeHaven Chevrolet for 12 years. He was an avid golfer until the age of 92. He truly enjoyed watching and was a diehard fan of both the Cubs and Phillies. He is survived by his daughters, Susan M. (Dennis) McClure of Fort Wayne, and Kay (Kevin) Scanlan of Orland Park, Ill.; his grandchildren, Meagan McClure of Fort Wayne and Joel Schiffli of Eden Prairie, Minn.; his step-grandchildren, Jessica, Shauna and Kevin Scanlan, Jr. A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Lutheran Park, Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne with a luncheon to follow.
