ROBERT (BOB) CARL HOHENSTEIN, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the home of his son. Born Dec. 15, 1923 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of late Robert O. and Elizabeth Hohen-stein. He served with the 160th infantry regiment, 40th infantry division, during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. He worked for the city of Fort Wayne WPCM for 32 years. He was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed his years of retirement spending many hours donating his time to charities, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his hobby of repairing almost anything and everything. He is survived by his three children, son, John O. (Deborah) Hohenstein of Hoagland; daughters, Roberta (Bob) Barnes of Leesburg, and Edith Seewald of North Webster; son-in-law, Vic Seewald, of Fort Wayne; and brother, Jack (Roseann) Hohenstein; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; brothers, Howard and Paul; sister, Betty Aschliman; and stepmother, Frieda Hohenstein. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd., with calling one hour prior to service. Reverand Robert Seewald officiating. Calling also from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
