ROBERT G. KIMES, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. Born in Spencerville, he was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. He was a self employed contractor; a U.S. Navy World War II veteran; and a member of American Legion Post 711 and St. Patrick Catholic Church; and served on the first parish council. He enjoyed any type of games, loved spending time with his family, and was a big Notre Dame fan. Surviving are his children, Marcia (Bill) Wiedelman of Zionsville, Ind., Sr. Carole Kimes, (Sister of Providence) of Indianapolis, Jim (Jackie) Kimes and John (Mary) Kimes, both of Fort Wayne, Meg (Robert) Gorman of Carmel, Ind., Terry Kimes of Portland, Ore., Barbara (Mike) Neukam and Mary (Jeff) McConnell, both of Carmel, Ind., and Bill (Dan Stephenson) Kimes of Indianapolis; 37 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Ann Leffers of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. Kimes; parents, Donald and Frances M. Kimes; sons, Don and Ricky Kimes; and sister, Donna May Noll. Morning prayers at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 South Calhoun St., Fort Wayne. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Rev. John Pfister officiating.
