ROBERT V. SUTHERLAND, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born in River Forest, Ill. He served in the Navy during World War II as Senior Control Tower Operator in Texas. He earned a degree in electronics from American Television Institute. He retired from Magnavox in 1989 as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League, Junior Achievement, Hospice, Masons, Celebration Singers, Brigade of Light, and Inner Light Ministries. Surviving are wife, Mary Sutherland; children, Sherrie (Luay) Muhamed of Atlanta, Ga. and David (Betty) Sutherland of Olympia, Wash.; stepson, Jeff Loveless of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters, Francese (Robert) Larsen of Columbia, S.C. and Elizabeth Weidemann of Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by parents, Myron and Helen Sutherland; wives, Dorothy and Lucy Sutherland; sons, William and Kenneth Sutherland; and stepson, William Cady. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb.23, 2013, at ILM Center, 220 Insurance Drive, Suite F, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Brigade of Light, and Inner Light Ministries.
