ROSE MARIE BRAGG, 84, of Burlington, Iowa and formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. Born Jan. 2, 1929 in St. Joe, Ind., she was the daughter of John Walter Paul and Ella Augusta Schultz Crothers. On June 15, 1947 she married Elliott Lee Bragg in St. Joe. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2004. She was a homemaker and held secretarial positions for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ, Christian Women's Fellowships and church circles. Surviving are her four daughters, Suzanne Marie (Steve) Yentes of Fort Wayne, Jo Ella Lee (Mike) Anderson of Montrose, Iowa, Laurie Caroline (Patrick) Breen of Denmark, Iowa and Melanie Rose (Gary) Fitch of Athens, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Ann Wolfcale. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and two brothers. The memorial funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mt. Pleasant St., Burlington, Iowa, the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Revs. David Yonker and Dean Benton will officiate. Private family inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ. According to Mrs. Bragg's wishes, cremation has been accorded.
