VERA L. RAUCH, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, 8:40 p.m., at Adams Memorial Hospital. Born June 25, 1925, in Adams County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Julius C. and Anna I. (Bernard) Schultz. On June 21, 1950, she married Homer F. Rauch; he died on Aug. 30, 1999. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and of its Rosary Society. She worked as a homemaker and also at 1st State Bank. She retired from for St. Joseph Catholic School, where she worked in the cafeteria and drove school bus. She researched her family genealogy and published four books. She was a fond collector of dolls, antiques, and dishes. She is survived by four sons, John E. (Deb) Rauch of St. Louis, Mo., Jim W. (Sheryl) Rauch of Decatur, twins - Pat J. Rauch and Mike J. (Donna Wefel) Rauch, both of Decatur; four daughters, Ann (Jeff) Garrison of Warren, Mich., Joie (Ken) Nelson of Fort Wayne, Chum Hakes (Craig Bultemeier) and Lori (Kevin) Anderson, both of Decatur; two sisters, Mary C. Geimer and Julia Ann Heimann, both of Decatur; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel J. Rauch; a grandson, Bill Rauch; a sister; and three brothers. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior, in the St. Mary's Parish Hall. Father David Voors presiding. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
