VERONICA "VONNIE" OCKEN HOOVER, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. Born in Fort Wayne, she was an insurance agent for over 20 years. She was an Eucharist Minister and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke and also a member of the Forks of the Wabash ABWA. "She was a devoted and loving mother to her son, A.J., she even deer hunted with him. Family and her faith were first in her life." Surviving are her son, A.J. Hoover of Roanoke; parents, Jack and Carole Ocken of Roanoke; brother, Jay (Lyn) Ocken of South Whitley; sister, Amy (Andy) Ellet of Huntington; nieces and nephews, Jake, Jarrett, Justine, Jacky, Jhett and Jackson. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St., Roanoke, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Dale Bauman officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.
