MARIE SCRANTON Obituary

MARIE ELLEN SCRANTON, 55, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1973. She worked as a home health aide with Paragon Home Care for two years; was formerly employed by Lincoln National Life Insurance as a mail clerk; and also worked at Goodwill Industries. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was an avid Komet hockey fan and enjoyed reading and watching Jeopardy. Surviving are her sister, Rose Ann (Rosie) Scranton of Fort Wayne; aunts, Cecilia Sherlock and Betty Merkler, both of Fort Wayne; many cousins; and her hockey buddies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell W. and Isabella Scranton. Committal service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bishop Luers Tuition Assistance.
