EDWIN MIDDAUGH Obituary

EDWIN D. "DOYLE" MIDDAUGH, 83, of Ossian, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital. Born March 3, 1927, to the late Ernest and Marie (Wickliff) Middaugh, he was a life time resident of Ossian. He was a self-employed plumber, and worked as the caretaker at Oak Lawn Cemetery for nearly 20 years. He was a member of American Legion 111 for 65 years, and a member of the Ossian Volunteer Fire Department since its inception, wearing the number three on his gear. He is survived by daughter, Julia (Greg) Rice of Markle; brother, Max Middaugh of Ossian; grandchildren, Tyler and Ashli Rice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jean Middaugh in February 2010, and sister, Peggy Humrickhouse. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 28, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to the Ossian Volunteer Fire Department. To leave on line condolences, please visit www.elzey-patterson-rodak.com
