HAROLD "ED" EFFINGER Jr.

HAROLD "ED" EFFINGER JR., 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011, at his home. Born in Fort Wayne, he retired from Lincoln Life Insurance Company (35 years Loyal Service Club) and Anthony Wayne Credit Adjusters. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Blessed Pope John the 23rd in Ft. Myers, Fla. "Ed was a loving man and a great listener blessed with the patience of a Saint, and the best friend anyone could have. As a husband and father, he was all that anyone could hope for. Those who knew Ed understand what a special man he was. He loved his wife, family, and friends; Lake Gage; and vacationing in Florida." Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Anne Effinger; son, Don (Lisa) Effinger of Fort Wayne; daughters, Sue (Bob) Ueber and Chris Reichert, both of Fort Wayne, and Cathy (Greg) Koehlinger of Barrington, Ill.; and grandchildren, Brandon, Katie, and Christopher Reichert, Jill, Paul, Don, and Drew Ueber, Annie Koehlinger, and Dominique and Mitchell Effinger. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Doris Effinger; and son-in-law, Brent Reichert. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Father Andrew Curry officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4:30 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with a rosary recited at 4 p.m. and vigil at 7:30 p.m. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery.
