BRUCE HEINE Obituary

BRUCE LOGUE HEINE, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at I.U. Health University Hospital, Indianapolis. Born in Fort Wayne on Sept. 9, 1937, Bruce returned to his birth place in 2005 after having lived much of his adult life in New Haven, Conn.; Columbus, Ohio; Marco Island, Fla., and Santa Fe, N.M. Until his retirement in 1999, he worked for the Pharmaceutical Division of the Bayer Corporation in various capacities, specializing in international marketing with a Latin American focus. From 1986 to 1999, Bruce served as a National Accounts Manager. A graduate of North Side High School (1955), Bruce received his B.S. degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Indiana University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. He went on to the American Graduate School of International Management, Glendale, Ariz. where he received a degree in Foreign Trade (Latin American area), before securing his M.B.A. from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Bruce also served in the Indiana and Arizona Air National Guards. Upon his return to Fort Wayne, he was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. In addition, he was a Ranger for the River Greenway, a Docent for the Allen County Courthouse Preservation Trust, and a volunteer for both Learn United and Study Connection. Bruce is survived by his wife, Julie; two sons, Kent M. of Bend, Ore. and Bruce J. of Seattle, Wash., a daughter, Kerstin (Karl) Augur; two grandchildren, Ryan and Meghan, both of Northford, Conn.; as well as a brother, Stephen S. of New Haven; and a stepson, Scott Thomas of Portsmouth, R.I. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood L. and Mary Ruth Logue; and brothers, Stan L. and Larry L. Memorial service is 3 p.m., with reception to follow, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in the Nave at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 West Wayne St., with calling from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Gary M. Erdos and the Rev. Dr. Kathleen W. Haller officiating. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
