Carlene was a friend from childhood. We even had the same baby sitter. I saw her last year at Mrs. Beuret's calling hours and talked about getting together this summer. I have always admired her. I never heard her complain! I have seen pictures of her children and grandchildren, but have never met any of you. We have lived in Muncie since 1972 so I only saw her once a year when some of us had lunch together in Ft. Wayne. Deepest sympathy to all of her family. She was a really great person and will be missed by all.
God's Blessings to her family, Janet (Helms) Ahlersmeyer

To all of Carlene's family, our sincere condolences. Whenever I'm asked who was one of the most influential people in my life - your Mom is always mentioned. She gave me great encouragement in real estate with her "NO GUTS NO GLORY" speech. About a month ago I printed out her address to see if she still lived in Ft Wayne and thought I would call her next time we were in Ft Wayne. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance. You all take care.

Carlene was our neighbor on Pretty Lake. She was a wonderful person. We did not get to see her as much as we would have liked. She really took to our grandson Logan. We will really miss her and you are all in our thoughts and prays.

Carlene Samczyk was my mom's cousin; i.e., my first cousin once removed, who grew up around Ft. Wayne, IN. In the summer before my Sophomore year in college, our family from Bryan, OH was invited over to Ft. Wayne to meet her family. This was my first time to ever meet the Samczyk's. Her son, John, came to visit us for a party in Bryan, OH over a weekend that summer. John was still convalescing from a broken leg and was on crutches. She and her whole family came to my father's funeral at about this same time in 1980 and to my grandmother Thorpe's funeral in November 1983. When I moved to Florida in 1981 I talked with her mother and brother a couple of times on the phone. My last phone contact with Carlene was in December of 1983 right before I bought my first condo in Florida and I needed some creative closing cost counseling. Her advice was uplifting as always but it made me realize that I needed to raise the closing costs on my own. I'll miss her warm cheerful smile.

Carly was the first to befriend me when I was forced to move to Covington Commons in July 2007. She was my best friend and confidante during a tough transition. She was always so upbeat despite her medical problems. I'll miss her deeply.

Carlene was a little bundle of fun in High School. We shared many joyful moments together in our senior year. We were expelled from school for the way we danced, hard to imagine. Her family is in my prayers for their comfort.

Carlene was my first real estate boss and mentor and an inspiration to me always. She taught me everything from being a relocation director "you could be the Virgin Mary and still not keep everybody happy" to playing blackjack and other joys of Las Vegas.
Seriously, she was a wonderful person and I will remember her with great fondness.
Her family was always the greatest joy of her life. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Carlene has been my friend since grade school at Harrison Hill back in the 1940's. She was in my wedding in 1956. We shared some time with our children, hers and mine, when they were younger. Although we have not spent time togther in years of late she has and always will be in my memory. She was and always will remain my closest and dearest friend. To her family I share your grief.

To Carlene's family. Carlene helped us find our first house in Ft. Wayne back in 1973. That was a delightful experience as was the many years we worked together in real estate. We had the good fortune of spending time with Charlene when she was at Pretty Lake. She loved the lake and truly loved her children and grandchildren. We were able to catch up on her dear family. Our prayers go out to all of you.
