ALBERT L. DOHERTY, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at his residence. Born in Fort Wayne, Albert worked as a Mechanical Engineer with ITT for 32 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, D.A.V. 40, and American Legion Post 499. He enjoyed hiking and camping with his family, and he was also active with the Boy Scouts for 30 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver and St. George Medals. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marie; daughters, Karen (Gary) Parke of Garrett, Ind. and Linda (Tim) Travis of Oshkosh Wis.; son, Robert (Sherry) Doherty of Syracuse, Ind.; daughter, Pamela (David) DeKoninck of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Doherty, in 1983; four brothers; and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Father Timothy Wrozek officiating.
