ALICE M. "SALLY" BITTNER, 98, of Decatur, died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, 9:48 a.m., at Adams Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1915, in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Reinhart and Lizetta (Hanni) Reinhart. She married Alton C. Bittner on Aug. 20, 1934, in Decatur; he passed away on Dec. 2, 2002. Alice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur; and a former longtime Sunday School teacher at Zion Lutheran Church, in Decatur, and St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble. Alice was a homemaker. Surviving are her sons, Frank (Marlene) Bittner of Decatur and Ronald (Carolyn) Bittner of Marion, Iowa; daughter, Faye (Robert E.) Keuneke of Decatur; brothers, Ted Reinhart of Decatur and Max Reinhart of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Reinhart, Wayne Reinhart and Harry Reinhart; three sisters, Lola Fox, Helen Foor and Mabel Bishong; and one great-grandson, Alton Charles Bittner. Service is 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Brege officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial in Decatur Cemetery.
