BARBARA JEAN FORD, 75, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. She was born on May 30, 1937, in Dyers burg, Tenn. As a young child, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a faithful member of Greater Progressive Baptist Church and well known throughout the country for her soul-stirring voice and ministry with the "Chosen Wonders". She retired from Lincoln Financial Group and most recently served as a Training Specialist for Indiana Workforce Development. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Warren Ford; sons, James David (Jennifer) Roberson of Muncie, Ind., Jerome (Ladell) Roberson of San Antonio, Texas, and Christopher (Suezette) Ford of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Bethany Marshall of Newman, Ga.; a brother, Thomas L. Scott Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one sister, Emma (Robert) Davis of Muncie; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church members, neighbors, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. and Emma Scott Sr.; and a special aunt, Ada Murphy. A Celebration of Life Musical is 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Greater Progressive Baptist Church, 2215 John St., Fort Wayne. Homegoing service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Abundant Life Church, 3301 E. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation three hours prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Service.
