BARBARA SUE ESSIG, 45, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. surrounded by her loving family in her Winona Lake, Ind. home. She was born March 31, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Bennett) Westendorf. She was a 1985 graduate of Warsaw Community Schools and lived most of her life in the Warsaw and Winona Lake, Ind. areas. She married Eric Essig, Aug. 19, 1989 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw, Ind. She was a Teacher's Aide at Sacred Heart School for 10 years; also assisted at J-3/Making Waves Salon. She enjoyed gardening and rock picking, was a lifelong Tippecanoe Lake lover, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she enjoyed the children. She cherished family time, and evening golf companionship with husband, Eric. She is survived by her husband, Eric Essig of Winona Lake; two sons, Evan and Jared Essig, both of Winona Lake; parents, Joe and Dorothy Westendorf of Leesburg, Ind.; brother, Doug (Bev) Westendorf of North Manchester, Ind.; five sisters, Deb (Terry) Frank of Tennessee, Kim (Don) Trammel of Leesburg, Ind., Nancy Westendorf of Leesburg, Ind., JoAnn (Jeff) Brown of North Webster, Ind. and Michelle (Chris) Davis of Nappanee, Ind.; 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Westendorf; and brother, Joey Westendorf. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, Ind. Father Phil DeVolder of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Ind. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Pierceton, Ind. Memorials to I.U.
