BETTY JANE (ROMANECK) WISNIEWSKI, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Saint Anne's Home. The daughter of Jacob and Mary (Nashlon) Romaneck, Betty was preceded in death in 1988 by her beloved husband, Stanley, with whom she was married for 41 years. Born in Fort Wayne in 1923, she graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne. She went to work for a year in the offices of the Home Telephone and Telegraph Company. She then worked at Seyfert's Potato Chip Company for four years and later worked as an insurance adjuster at North American Van Lines for twenty years, retiring in 1992. "Those who were fortunate enough to have known Betty will remember her winning personality, great sense of humor and her love of playing card games." "Betty lives on in the hearts" of her daughter, Susan (Christopher) Koehler of Stroudsburg, Pa.; her son, Daniel (Karen) Wisniewski of Fort Wayne; and her daughter, Marci (Thomas) O'Shaughnessey of Monroeville, Ind.; grandson, Jeremy Schurger of Hoboken, N.J.; granddaughter, Krista Brancato of Stroudsburg, Pa.; grandson, Ryan O'Shaughnessey of Monroeville, Ind.; granddaughter, Melissa Polston of Louisville, Ky.; and granddaughter, Kelli Roe of Woodburn, Ind., and their respective spouses, Trish, Steve, Jami, Brian, and Jason; and her nine great-grandchildren; and her elder sister, Victoria Walzer of Hudson, Ind. She was preceded in death by her elder brother, Jacob Romaneck of Paducah, Ky. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at St. Anne's Chapel, 1900 Randallia Dr., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 S. Water St., Monroeville, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Following the services interment will be conducted next to her husband at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
