CAL M. PETERSON, 86, of New Haven, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:25 p.m. at Kingston Residence. Born May 20, 1925 in Decatur, he was the son of the late Cal F. Peterson and the late Edna (Neukom) Peterson. He married Magdelene K. Hilgeman July 24, 1948 in Magley, Ind., and she passed away Nov. 5, 2010. They had been married 62 years. He was a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, a former member of the American Legion 330 of New Haven, and a lifetime member of Decatur Lodge 571, Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, and Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne. He was a welder and mechanic with Truck Engineering Company for 35 years. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Surviving are his sons, Cal Alan (Renate) Peterson of Fort Wayne and Gary L. Peterson of Rome City; daughter, JoAnn (Rick) Dommer of New Haven; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Richard, Don, and Ralph Peterson. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the funeral home.
