CALVIN E. BLEVINS, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Genesis Health care, New Haven. Born in Little Rock, Ark., Calvin was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran. He work ed with GTE for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of New Horizons Fellowship Missionary Church. Calvin enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting. Surviving are his sons, Gregory (Laurie) Blevins of Lilburn, Ga. and Douglas Blevins of Ossian; daughters, Natalie Brudi of New Haven, Debra (Michael) Brandt of Hillsboro, Kan. and Kimmerly Fox of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara Hormann of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by parents, Ezra and June Blevins; first wife, Wilda Bosselman; second wife, Dorothy Blevins; sister, Katie Goodwin; and brother, George Blevins. Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at New Horizons Fellowship Missionary Church, 1330 Werling Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Jeff Elliott officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Gar Creek Union Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials may be made to New Horizon Fellowship Missionary Church.
