CECELIA K. ASHLEY, 72, of Phoenix, Ariz., died on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, after a four year battle with cancer. Born May 20, 1941, in Edon, Ohio, she was the daughter of Homer and Mary McCrea. She married Bill Ashley of Phoenix, Ariz. on June 8, 1963. A 1959 graduate of North Central High School, Pioneer, Ohio, and a 1964 graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College, she was an elementary school teacher in Phoenix, Ariz. until retiring in 1997. Surviving are her husband, Bill; father, Homer of Edon, Ohio; daughter, Deborah A. (Nick) Licata of Orange, Calif.; son, David A. (Holly) Ashley of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandsons, Hunter and Lucas Ashley, Jonah and Jack Licata; four brothers, Gene (Ilene) McCrea, Richard (Judy) McCrea, Ronald (Mary Jane) McCrea, and Brad (Cathy) McCrea; and two sisters, Dianna (Ronnie) Miller and Madalyn McCrea. She was preceded in death by her mother. A Celebration of Life is 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Columbia Church of Christ, 14832 Co. Rd. 150, Edon, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arizona Second Chance Prison Ministry, Inc. PO Box 71462, Phoenix, AZ 85050.
