DAVID JACKSON LONG, 61, of Snow Lake, Fremont, formerly of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, April 30, 2012. Born July 17, 1950, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Fred and Betty (Writzen gruter) Long. He retired from Dana, Fort Wayne, in August of 2001. Surviving are his wife, Cheri L. Long of Snow Lake, Fremont; one daughter, Jennifer and Cory Garman of Pleasant Lake; one son, Jared and Jami Long of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Kyle Garman, Taya Garman, Morgan Garman, Jackson Garman, and Harper Long; one sister, Sandy Meyers of Fort Wayne; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Long of Syracuse; father-in-law, Ralph Morrison of Sarasota, Fla.; and mother-in-law, Mary Morrison of Fort Wayne. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. The Rev. Eric Piersimoni officiating.
