Dede left such beautiful memories behind with our tennis groups especially! The more I get to know her grandchildren, the more I love her special legacy to each one. Her kind heart is what they most admired about both their very special grandmothers, both of whom are gone too soon.

Dede was a wonderful friend whose wit and wisdom endeared her to so many! Her grandchildren are such a joy, especially those who remind us of her, but I wish she were here to enjoy them, as she certainly did! Her affection for friends and family was much appreciated by all and she is so often fondly remembered and missed.

We have so many happy memories of Dede, on and off the tennis court and for years! Her vibrant energy, authenticity and wit brightened happy and sad moments for all of us. She will be admired and remembered, especially when we provide a zesto cone to a kid standing in line--the perfect memorial for our dear friend!

Oh Dede I laughed and cried all at the same time reading your Obit. That was so you. Such wonerful memories we have of working to make this a better city. You were always in the corner of neighborhoods and fought along with us. Wonderful days walking in the 3 rivers parades, working on the green way, conferences we attended, the breakfasts, the picnics. You and Sam always there for us.I remember the Toledo Conference when we went to eat at Pacos,(MASH) we ate too much and suffered heart burn all night long. Thank-you for the all the wonderful memories. To Sam and family my deepest sympathies.Another Star in the heavens.

Dear Family of Wonder-FULL Dede -
As a Delta Gamma pledge sister of Dede's, I knew her quite well ... and cared for her enough to name my younger daughter after her. Also, she hails from Columbia City, birthplace of my Mother. Very special.
I can absolutely hear her saying, "This sucks. I'm outa' here."
Too young, and too sad. Love and peace to Dede's beloved family.

What a wonderful and unique way to remember Dede. Although I only read her obituary, and never met her. It left me feeling as though I missed out on a very special woman. May your memories be wonderful and fill you with comfort.

The last time I saw my Aunt Dede was at sunset in Ft. Myers beach. I got a hug and a smile as big as the one in the picure here...that was my gift.
My aunt Dede, one of the most genuine, one-of-a-kind people I've known.

Reading this obituary makes me wish very much that I had known her. How blessed you all were to have had her in your life. I think yours in the only obit that has actually made me smile Dede. Only you would get away with that. We had so many good times together (back in the day before the city got seperated) lots of work together to get some positive changes out there. Thank you for that.
